I am writing this formal letter on behalf of DPD ASITA Bali, and I am sure by now many of you might have gotten news about the recent incident in Jakarta that happened on Thursday, 14 January 2016 at 10:45 am Jakarta time. With heartfelt regrets and grief DPD ASITA Bali extends its condolences to the victims, families and friends of the tragic events that took place in Jakarta recently. We also thank and commend the Indonesian security and rescue services that put their life on the line in order to safe others. Our thoughts are with all of those who were affected by these cowardly and heinous acts.

We will not be intimidated by the recent events in Jakarta. We take them as an opportunity to improve and to remind ourselves and our tourists that life is wonderful and should be cherished and enjoyed. So let’s not give in to terror, hate and fear, let’s keep travelling and enjoy the island of Bali with all it has to offer.

After proper communication with our colleague and other sources in Jakarta, I would like to assure all of you that the situation in Jakarta has returned to the normal and that the damages of the places of tourist attraction in the country is minimal.
